Community is everything at PITP. Our events only happen because volunteers turn up, set things up, look out for each other, and help everyone else have a great time. Below are the roles we recruit for, plus how the application process works.

How it works

From application to event day

The same process for every role. Designed to be quick, fair, and clear.

Submit application

Share your details and role preference via the role's form.

Acknowledgement

The form logs your submission and you get an automatic confirmation.

Review

We assess fit, availability, and verify any required credentials.

Chat

A short call or message exchange to align expectations on both sides.

Decision

We let you know the outcome. If it's not the right fit this time, we'll suggest alternatives.

Onboarding & training

Briefing, policies, and role-specific guidance ahead of the event.

Volunteer Roles

Seven roles, plus more on the way. Applications open and close around event cycles, so check back if a role is currently closed.

Helper

Currently closed

Join the PITP Help Team and run the event frontline alongside us. You're the people attendees see first.

Duties

  • Help with queue and crowd flow
  • Provide directions and basic information
  • Escalate issues to Team Leaders

Requirements

  • Be over 18
  • Able to work as a team
  • Good problem mitigation skills

Team Lead

Currently closed

A leadership role on our Event Operations team. You direct helpers and act as the link between the frontline and event management.

Duties

  • Direct helpers and manage queue/crowd flow
  • Provide directions and information to attendees
  • Escalate issues to Event Management

Requirements

  • Prior experience in team leadership
  • Be over 18
  • Able to direct a team confidently

Medic

Currently closed

Provide first aid support at events. Certification required, and we verify credentials during review.

Duties

  • Provide basic first aid support
  • Maintain incident notes and handovers
  • Liaise with organisers and Team Leaders on incidents
  • Report to Team Leads

Requirements

  • Valid first aid certification for England
  • Recent practical experience preferred
  • Good communication skills

Photographer

Join the PITP Content Team as a photographer or videographer. You'll be our social frontline. Portfolio required.

Duties

  • Capture the energy of PITP events
  • Get reactionary photos around specific moments
  • Follow brand and consent guidelines

Requirements

  • Portfolio with relevant experience
  • Respect for privacy and consent policies
  • Own camera and equipment
  • Basic content security knowledge
  • Able to work with a team

Logistical Operations

Currently closed

Be part of the core team that physically makes events happen: setup, takedown, and the running around in between.

Duties

  • Setting up event areas and structures
  • Taking down temporary structures after the event
  • Health & safety compliance on the day
  • Sustainability compliance (waste, recycling)

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence, 1+ year of driving
  • Able to drive B category or higher (B1, C, C1, BE+)
  • Able to lift heavy items and drive long distances
  • Live within ~1.5hr drive of event location

Creative Team

Be at the front of our creative and artistic operations: graphics, illustrations, and visual identity work.

Duties

  • Following creative briefs from the Creative Director
  • Producing event collateral and brand assets

Requirements

  • Experience with digital art tools
  • Relevant portfolio work
  • Calm, clear communication and status updates

Discord Moderator

Currently closed

Help keep our online community space safe and welcoming. Experience with community moderation preferred.

Duties

  • Monitor chat for rule violations
  • Engage positively with community members
  • Escalate issues to lead moderators

Requirements

  • Empathy and active listening
  • Familiarity with Discord moderation tools
  • Calm, clear communication
