The short version

What is Pups in the Park?

Pups in the Park is a friendly community meet for young people and adults who love animals and creative self-expression. Our members are part of the alterhuman, therian and kemonomimi communities. In plain terms, that means they feel a strong connection to animals, or they enjoy wearing animal-styled ears, tails and masks.

A meet is a lot like a relaxed day in the park with friends. People sit on the grass, play games, swap art and handmade crafts, and chat with others who share their interests. There is no pressure to dress up or join in, and plenty of people come along just to make new friends.

Safeguarding

How we keep everyone safe

Your young person's safety is the first thing we plan around. Here is what that looks like on the day.

Public, PG events

Every meet is held in a public park and everything is kept family friendly. Anything inappropriate is not allowed, and anyone who breaks that is asked to leave.

Staff you can spot

Our trained volunteers wear coloured lanyards so they are easy to find. Medics wear green, and our official photo team wears a black lanyard with a purple tag.

Clear age rules

Under 13s must stay with a parent or guardian at all times. Under 18s are not allowed alcohol, vapes or cigarettes at any point.

Consent comes first

We ask everyone to get permission before touching another person, their gear, or taking their photo. No always means no.

First aid on site

We have medics on hand throughout the day for any bumps, allergies or worries, so help is never far away.

Easy to raise a concern

If anything ever feels wrong, you or your young person can speak to a staff member on the day or email our safeguarding team.

A typical day

What happens at a meet

Our meets run for a few hours during the day at a UK park. A typical day has games, a trading and craft area, the chance to meet friendly UK content creators, and plenty of time to relax and socialise.

Entry is a small fee of around 2 pounds per person, which helps cover running costs. We suggest bringing water, snacks, and suncream or a coat depending on the weather.

What can parents do?

We plan our venues around easily accessible amenities, so there is always somewhere nearby for a bite to eat or a quick break.

If your young person is 13 or over, you are welcome to tag out for food, or simply drop them off and pick them up later. Under 13s need a parent or guardian with them at all times, but there is usually plenty of room for those parents to relax and mingle too.

Still have questions?

We are always happy to talk things through before you decide. Read our full rules and policies, or get in touch any time.
